Club show in Waukee July 2005
We had another nice crowd for the show in conjunction with the Mid-Iowa Hawkeye antique power fair in Waukee again this year (Central Hawkeye Antique Power club). I didn’t manage to muster any other members to help, but had a ball as usual visiting with the crowd, young and old alike and on Saturday, to my surprise a friend from my high school days, a traveling engineer who is working in the Grimes area for the next year or so, wandered through and wound up taking a couple turns behind the display:

The show in Waukee during July of '06 was similar to the preceding year; an appreciative crowd with much conversation inspired by a working Zenith console, among the other working displays, that brought back a lot of memories for those willing to brave the HOT weather.
He must have enjoyed the show, because my friend showed up again this year - and he brought his father.

May 2007 saw the first annual IARCHS radio auction in Cedar Rapids.
Given how "iffy" any "first annual" event can be, it came togother well and we look forward to making it one of our annual anchor events.
About a month after the auction in one of our community outreach efforts there was a 2 hour display and talk at the Tama county historical society.
Our annual show in conjunction with the Central Hawkeye Power Club in Waukee, Iowa was held on the third weekend of September. As this was an experimental Fall meet, attendance was light (and I neglected to take my camera to get any pictures). But the weather was great and both the power club members who attended (many of which had not seen our display before as they're so tied up with the big show in July) and the radio club members who helped out (thanks to Dwight & Doug) had a good time. As of November 2007 we are still in discussions regarding activities for 2008.
Our next auction is NOW SET for May 3rd. 2008 at Hawkeye Downs in Cedar Rapids (details to follow), and we'll have at least one major display ..... stay tuned.
